For the first time in nearly 10 years Austin Travis County EMS is without a contract with the workforce. The interim city manager’s negotiation team broke off negotiations on October 30 2017 with the ATCEMS Association representing over 550 Emergency Medical Services professionals that continue to provide exemplary care and safety net services for the community.

By holding Austin’s EMS professionals out of contract the department will be further challenged to hire, recruit and retain highly qualified medics and already chronic attrition will grow worse eventually impacting the ability to staff ambulances. HELP EMS HELP YOU
Please sign the petition requesting Mayor Adler and the Austin City Council to direct the city manager to return to the negotiations process and lift imposed barriers that hold the negotiations teams from completing a contract that the medics and city council can vote on.
