Help Austin’s Paramedics protect their jobs: Vote YES on Prop 11 this November.

When you vote YES on Prop 11, you are giving a City of Austin Uniformed Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Employees inclusion in the State of Texas Civil Service Statute §143. Both Austin Police and Austin Fire Department already have been included in prior elections by the Austin voters, and your Paramedics deserve the same protections.

YES on Prop 11 will allow EMS uniformed staff to be active in ensuring a safe work environment, without having to be afraid they may lose their job.

YES on Prop 11 will offer protections to EMS uniformed staff to be more proactive in informing the public if they feel that decisions made by EMS management are adversely affecting the public’s well-being, without having to be afraid that they may lose their job.

YES on Prop 11 will allow EMS uniformed staff more input into how the EMS department is operated. We feel it is important that the frontline EMS provider has real input into how we as a department take care of those we serve — you. We feel that this will help us to improve service and make sure that our departments focus stays on serving you, when you need EMS most.
